This presentation-style overview is designed to walk you confidently through the full setup experience available at Trezor.io/Start. Whether you're securing digital assets for the first time or upgrading from another wallet solution, your Trezor hardware wallet delivers advanced protection, offline private key security, and a streamlined onboarding flow. This redesigned layout brings clarity, color accents, and structured guidance for every step of your setup journey.
Begin by opening your Trezor Model One or Trezor Model T package. You should see the device, a USB cable, and security documentation. Ensure the tamper-evident seal on the box is not broken. This seal guarantees that no unauthorized person accessed your hardware before delivery.
Connect your Trezor to your computer using the included USB cable. Once connected, the device will activate and display an initial welcome screen directing you to complete the setup online.
Open your browser and type Trezor.io/Start. This page automatically detects your device model and walks you through the onboarding process. You will be prompted to download and install the official Trezor Suite application, which is available for Windows, macOS, and Linux.
After launching the Trezor Suite, you will be asked to either create a new wallet or recover an existing one. New users should select Create New Wallet. Your device will generate a unique recovery seed phrase, typically 12, 18, or 24 words long depending on your hardware model. This phrase must be written down carefully.
Remember—your recovery seed is the absolute key to your digital wealth. If your device is ever lost, damaged, or replaced, your seed phrase is the only way to restore access.
Store your seed phrase on paper or a fireproof metal backup. Never store it digitally or share it with anyone. Trezor does not store your recovery seed, and it cannot be retrieved by support teams. Your security relies completely on how safely you protect these words.
After your seed phrase is secured, Trezor Suite will guide you through final configuration steps: setting a device PIN, selecting coin networks, and organizing wallets. Once complete, your Trezor device is ready to use. You can begin transferring crypto, managing assets, and tracking your portfolio with the highest level of security available.
